Carter has been a member of the Hawks Club since the age of nine and has graduated from our Club competition into our Rep Program. He is a player of great pedigree. The son of former Tiger Ryhs Provan and grandson of the legendary Kevin Bowrey; he is also the younger brother of Jesse who is an established league and touch player with the Hawks. Carter has come of age over the past two years and will spearhead our u/18s in Port for the upcoming Junior State Cup. He has already played in our Vawdon Cup 1st Division Grand Final team that went down narrowly to Manly in the decider. His work in the middle makes any team he is playing for a strong team and he has a wonderful ability to improve players around him which has been noticed by many good judges over the past eight JSC tournaments. He is a very popular member of the Hawks Club and attracts players to the Club who want to play with him. Aside from touch football, Carter is entering year 12 at Holy Cross College and has already made his mark in the MCC competitions (League and Touch) combined with playing a starring role for the Holy Cross Rhinos in the Balmain Junior League. One of his recent coaches, Jamie Clifford, was full of praise for Carter, “Carter is the heart and soul of our teams. First to training and last to leave whilst always giving 120%. He has lifted his endurance and taken his game to the next level, well beyond his years. He has the rare ability to switch on when required and I put this down to his physical and mental toughness. Players want to play with him and coaches enjoy coaching him. He is truly a great kid with the world at his feet.” Congratulations to Carter on being our Hawks Male Player of the month. Amiah Dale is the Hawks Female Player of the month for January.
Amiah has been a part of the Hawks Club since the age of nine after graduating from our junior development program. She is a player of great presence on the field and is a try scoring machine with her speed and ability to burn players on the outside. It is easy to understand why plenty of good judges see a bright future for Amiah as she heads into our u/12s squad for the 2022 Junior State Cup. She has represented the Hawks at the Junior State Cup over the last 2 years and has made her mark with her tenacious defence, never say die attitude and silky skills in attack. She leaves everything out on the field and does the best for her team at every training session & game. Playing as a middle, she soon turned into a strong attacking weapon and scored eight tries in her first tournament in Port Macquarie which included scoring a hat trick in one game. In 2020 she led the team to the semi-finals and the NSW State Finals at Penrith (which was unfortunately cancelled due to COVID 19). She has also loved being a part of the local Club competition playing mixed two years above her age and helped the team with the u/14 title. This is an amazing feat for someone turning 11 this year. Not only is she a wonderful touch football player, but she mixes it with the boys during the Winter months playing Junior League with the mighty Leichhardt Juniors Club. After speaking with one of her recent coaches, Jordan Kelly was quoted as saying “Amiah is an amazing player to coach. She loves to have fun but knows when it is time to be serious! She has a confident and outgoing personality which benefits her touch game. She is a natural leader on and off the field which makes her a coaches dream! Amiah is dedicated at training and is always willing to learn new touch skills. A wonderful all round girl” Congratulations to Amiah on being the Hawks Female Player of the month for January. |
