Ryde Parramatta Golf Club is truly a hidden gem right in the heart of Hawks territory.
Ryde-Parramatta is one of Sydney's leading private golf clubs and has a championship par 71 golf course with an Australian rating of par 72. Over recent years the course has undergone a multi-million dollar redevelopment under the watchful eye of Ross Watson one of Australia's best known course designers. The course has been designed to set new standards in visual and golfing excellence. Australian eucalypts, grevilleas and banksias line the gently undulating fairways and are a natural sanctuary to a myriad of native Australian birds. Large, gently sloping bent grass greens allow for multiple pin placements, whilst the championship tees are strategically positioned to test individual skill levels. Facilities include an 18-hole championship course with a full range of practice areas. There is a well stocked golf shop and an experienced golf professional on hand to provide golf tuition either individually or in a clinic. Modern electric golf carts plus golfing equipment are available for hire whilst a course hospitality cart will add to your enjoyment of the day. Giselle is the player every team needs and every coach wants in their team. With speed to burn and a great knowledge of touch, Giselle has the natural ability to turn games. Giselle has a caring & soft personality that draws people to her and has been a key member of the Hawks since the age of 10 years old. On the field, she has established herself as a player who can single handedly change a game with her freakish speed. This has been evident throughout all of her junior career. When teams slightly turned their backs she would already be through their line after scooping the ball on the run or crashing through on a Rooster play. There are very few players with her consistent pace. This speed and skill has been inherited from her father (Ben) who played NRL for the Dragons and Eels. Giselle was a key player for the recent 18 girls in Port Macquarie and scored some impressive individual tries on day one before the rain caused the tournament to be abandoned. There is an old saying that you can’t beat speed in touch football and this is apparent when you watch Giselle play. Hawks Senior Women’s Coach Luke Eisenhuth has been a close mentor and coach of Giselle said, “I have enjoyed watching Giselle develop throughout her formative years and see her still on the path to reaching her potential. Her knowledge and application will see her make the transition from juniors to seniors easily if she continues to learn more about the game and train hard”. Giselle is one of those players every Club needs and every coach wants. Congratulations to Giselle on being our Hawks Female Player of the Month. Ryde Eastwood Hawks had three representatives in the Scorpions teams that participated in the recent 2021 Junior Regionals.
Tegan Nicholas, Kendall Kilby and Temieke Withers (pictured above in this order) were selected for the 12s Girls team. Each of the girls played very well throughout the tournament with Tegan Nicholas earning the "Players Player" award. The girls won an awesome semi final that went down to a 3 on 3 drop off. They then unfortunately lost in the Grand Final to Sydney Rebels 2-1. The girls all enjoyed the experience and learnt a lot which they will bring back to the club. Congratulations and well done to each of the girls. For action photos from the weekend click on the link below Isaac Miller is the Hawks male player of the month for May.
Anyone who sees him play comes away impressed and agrees that he has the world at his feet. Isaac is one of the smartest and sharpest ten year olds in the Club. He can step off both feet and can burn a defender before they even know they have missed the touch. After playing a leading role for the mighty Leichhardt Juniors and winning a premiership, touch football was the logical next step in testing his speed and silky skills. After two years with the Hawks, his decision has been justified with many good judges identifying Isaac as a rep player of the future and a leader of the team with his words of encouragement and ability to lift the players around him. Whilst he still has a long way to go in his career, the speed, skills, footwork, never say die attitude and determination have plenty of good judges in the district comparing him to a young Luke Brooks. He has been very fortunate to be mentored by Wests Tigers premiership winner Ben Galea and George O’Beid who was a rep touch player himself. Isaac’s coaches both spoke glowingly about his attitude, speed and desire to continually challenge himself to improve. His understanding of the game and his ability to execute the plays on the field is another trait both coaches spoke about. ‘Isaac is a true competitor and a pleasure to coach. He has the skills and ability as a player (and a person) to go all the way in his career if he continues to develop at the rate he is at now. it is hard to believe he is so young when you watch him play with that knowledge and ability to turn a game with his blistering speed’. Congratulations to Isaac on being the Hawks Male Player of the month for May. |
