Upcoming Touch Season (2021 Season)
The upcoming competition will be run under COVID-19 compliant conditions as set by NSW Touch in association with the NSW Government. The draft details for the 2021 Season are set out below. Please take the time to read them. We now hope to start the season on Monday 25 October (COVID-19 pending). More details regarding game dates will be made available once we have clarity around the start date. Competitions: The 2021 Season consists of age competitions for U8s, U10s, U12s, U14s and U16s boys and girls. These competitions will be run on Monday afternoons with games commencing at 4:15 pm, 4:50 pm and 5:25pm. All games will be played at Morrison Bay Park, Bremner Park or Bill Mitchell Park. Please note the age criteria below. Age groups do not necessarily align with those used in other sports such as football and netball. They do align with the Touch representative age groups and the next Junior State Cup competition. Under 8s – Born in 2014 or later Under 10s – Born in 2012 or later Under 12s – Born in 2010 or later *** (Max of 4 Rep players per team - see details below) Under 14s – Born in 2008 or later *** (Max of 4 Rep players per team - see details below) Under 16s – Born in 2006 or later *** Following extensive feedback, under 12s and U14s teams this year will only be allowed to have a maximum of 4 players who played in 2021 Junior State Cup. The club has decided to phase this rule in - beginning with the U12 and U14 age groups in 2021. The club is trying to ensure that more players are able to enjoy the competition by splitting up dominant teams and evening out the ability across the teams. This will allow the competition to remain close and even. This is a growth strategy that we expect will assist in retaining players in older age groups and creating pathways to the senior competition. We have acted on feedback and note that lopsided games caused some issues with parents last year. While this is a hard decision and may cause some issues, we seek to improve the experiences of all our players and encourage them to return to park football the following year. How to enter a team: To enter a team please complete the online team registration process. This can be done by clicking here (0r on the button at the bottom of the page) or go to the Ryde Eastwood website “Comps” page and click on the Summer Juniors “Team Regos OPEN now” button. As was the case last year, all players MUST wear the Hawks reversible playing singlets. For new players or past players that need new singlets these will be available for purchase for $25. The registration process this year is based on a team. The cost for 2021 is $550 per team (Under 8s and 10s $500) but to encourage early payment there is a $100 discount if registration is paid before Round 2 this will be reduced to $450 (Under 8s and 10s $400). Managers are to collect team fees. Competition Requirements: Please note the following important competition requirements

It is fair to say that a Club can be built around a player and a person like Isaac Kusto.
A player who has proven himself at every level and a player who brings out the best in his team mates with a never say die attitude. Isaac started his career with the Hawks as a fleet footed 9 year old and was soon an integral part of the Liam Liston coached juggernaut. A link or middle, Isaac proved himself against the best in the state and was rewarded with selection in the Sydney Scorpions Squads. Isaac has speed and knowledge that allows him to control games and dominate opposition teams. In a family of four children (one his twin), it is fair to say that Isaac has learnt a lot about touch from his older brother Jake, his sister Giselle and his twin brother Finn who are all established players for the Hawks. Needless to say the best lessons have been learnt off his parents (Ben and Yvette) and his natural ability has plenty of good judges in the district comparing his ability to his father Ben who is a former NRL player with the Eels and Dragons and also a former touch player at Ryde Eastwood. Some of Isaac's career achievements are highlighted below: - Three Players Player Awards in five years - Three years chosen in the Sydney Scorpions Squad - Winner of three local competition grand finals Coach and mentor Liam Liston said that ‘Isaac was not only one of the most coachable players he has coached but he also has a unique ability to bring out the best in the players around him with his personality and skills. He is a player who has a never say die attitude and loves to compete. If he commits to hard work; his skills and passion will see him go all the way’ Congratulations to Isaac on being the Hawks Male Player of the Month for September 2021. Please remember to support those who support us. Savannah Reich is the Hawks Female Player of the Month for September.
It’s fair to say that Savannah has sport coursing through her veins after being born into one of the best sporting families in the Ryde area. Savannah is the niece of Tigers legend Benny Elias. He and other uncles played for the Tigers. She is also the cousin of Eels playmaker and Ryan Wilks member Mitchell Moses. It is easy to understand why touch football was her destiny. Savanna also excels at basketball and represents her school in rep basketball (Monte College North Sydney). Her touch football career has seen her develop well from her early days. She has worked hard on her silky attacking skills and aggression in defence playing link or middle. She is one of the most popular members of the Hawks Club with her caring nature and desire to win at all costs for her team mates. Her ability to rise to the occasion when playing against the strong Clubs is something she prides herself on. Her fitness, competitiveness and the willingness to challenge herself combined with her never say die attitude inspires the players around her. Savannah is also a strong leader with her actions and never backs down from a situation. A recent mentor Darren Southcombe added “Sav is one of those players that you want in your team. She is first to training and last to leave. Her ability to lift the team on the field with a special play or a try saving touch inspires everyone around her. Her aggression in defence is her trademark and lifts her team mates. Whilst she is still developing as a player, she is certainly on the right path to play Premier League for the Hawks”. Congratulations to Savannah on being the Hawks Female Player of the Month. |
