When you look up the meaning of a team player, you will find the words Anna Besgrove.
She is a coach's dream! Always first to training and last to leave and does everything with a beaming smile and a beautiful nature. Anna has many wonderful traits on the field and is loyal to her team mates and Club. She has wonderful vision, speed to burn and endurance to play at the same level for sustained periods of time. At JSC this is something that is very important and Anna does it better than most. Her defence is another strong point and not many tries get scored whilst she is on the field. Anna’s versatility is another strength and having a player who can play middle, link or wing is another reason why she is a coach’s dream. Anna embodies many of the qualities you look for in a successful Club culture – she’s unselfish, caring, committed and on trips away to Port Macquarie, she embraces the Club & team culture like no other. At the age of 15, Anna is already a veteran of six Junior State Cup tournaments (eight years in total playing at Ryde Eastwood) and has now started her journey into our senior program by playing Vawdon Cup. On the Club front, she has won numerous titles as seen in the photos attached. One of her long time mentors, David Kelly offered the following “Anna is a player on the rise who has developed her game over the past eight years with her desire to improve and compete. Her commitment to the teams she has played in is something that is obvious to anyone who knows her. Success follows her and she has been a valued member of at least four teams that have gone deep into the finals at Port. She comes from a family where loyalty is ingrained in them and this flows into her attitude towards her team mates, officials and coaches. We are all hoping Anna reaches her potential over the next three seasons before moving into seniors” Congratulations to Anna on being the Hawks Female Player of the Month for July 2021.
