Brendan robertson - senior player of the month - march 2021

Brendan Robertson is the Hawks Senior Player of the Month. He is the player every team needs and every Club appreciates.
 
Whether it be first to training, doing extra’s or being the last to leave, Brendan is a player that players want beside them.
 
On the field, he has established himself as a Premier League player for the Club and has also moved into the Scorpions Rep program after his consistent performances:
 

• Sydney Scorpions 2018
• Sydney Scorpions 2019
• Sydney Scorpions 2021

 
Off the field, he has taken on a coaching role with our u/16 boys team and has derived a lot of enjoyment in passing on his knowledge to the next generation of Hawks (in fact he has coached these boys for the past three seasons!!!). This coaching role continued at the recently washed out titles in Port Macquarie. This is an exceptional example of someone who is committed to the Club and committed to giving his time for the future of the Club. Time is such a precious commodity to give during these busy times and Brendan does this selflessly and really enjoys mentoring this group!
 
Brendan has been a Hawk for the past twelve years and in that time he has won four titles in juniors and seniors. He has now set his sights on winning a State Title in Premier League. “Whilst we still have a lot of improvement in us as a team, our work ethic and intensity at training is something we are working on and are focused on. We learnt a lot in December at Port when our team was wrecked by injuries however we dug deep for each other”. Bears said “I also love playing with all of the boys and the bond we have which has been built over many years”. 
 
Barry Gibson has been a close mentor and coach of Brendan (aka Bears) and said “I have really enjoyed watching Bears grow up to the man he is today. He has so much ability as a player and I am looking forward to him reaching his full potential over the next few years. He has a wonderful knowledge of the game and if you combine that with his speed and game management, you can see why he is so valued. He eats, sleeps and breaths Hawks culture”.
