Charlotte richmond - female player of the month - may 2022

Charlotte is a team player to the core who loves playing for the Hawks and has a huge appetite to learn.
 
As a middle she gives everything and at times can’t breathe. She is mentally tough and a great leader. Playing in her first State Cup in 2019 was exciting and she has been a permanent member since, highlighted by being named captain of the team. 
Her mentors and coaches Kylie and Chris say that “Charlotte is always first to training and last to leave with an amazing work ethic. She is an absolute pleasure to coach, willing to learn and always working hard on her skills.” Charlotte has won a number of awards for the Hawks and has been a Players’ Player and Liston Award nominee. She has also been part of the leadership group as either captain or co-captain every year since 2019.  
 
Interestingly, when Charlotte first started playing Monday night touch football she 'just wanted to play touch' and didn't care if her friends were playing or not. So she signed up as an individual player hoping to join a team. Somehow a motley crew of girls were pulled together to form u10s Girl Power. They played in the boys comp that year because there was no u10s girls comp at that time. Let’s say that every week they finished second, but had loads of fun. What formed after this was a group that ended up as being great players, winning their girls age group comp every year since, with the majority of the team being Hawks rep players. Charlotte has met great friends and players along the way and has played at Hawks for 4 years now.  
 
We look forward to Charlotte reaching her potential with the Hawks and plenty of good judges have marked her name down for a huge future. Perhaps it’s time to challenge the boys again….
