Iilah has been a part of the Hawks Club since the age of seven after graduating from our junior development program.
She is a player of great pedigree. The daughter of former leading player and current Hawks Senior Coach Liam Liston and granddaughter of the legendary Jack Liston and Debbie Brewin a member of the "Ryde Eastwood Team of 40 Years". It is easy to understand why plenty of good judges see a bright future for Iilah. Iilah has represented the Hawks at the Junior State Cup over the last two years and has made her mark with her tenacious defence and silky skills in attack. She leaves everything out on the field and does the best for her team. Playing as link in her first year as a rep player, she soon turned into a strong link and scored five tries in the 2019 tournament in Port Macquarie which included scoring a hat trick in one game. In 2020, she was named co-captain and led the team to the semi-finals and the NSW State Finals at Penrith (which was unfortunately cancelled due to COVID 19). She has also loved being a part of the local Club competition, especially last year when she was playing two years above her age and scored a brilliant individual try to win her team the grand final. After speaking to her two coaches, they both commented how passionate Iilah is for her team and team mates and how loyal she is to the Hawks Club. Congratulations to Iilah on being the Hawks Junior Player of the month for October, 2020. Comments are closed.
