The Hawks Female Player of the Month is Jacqueline Pawsey.
Jacqueline is a player with the world at her feet. She can step off both feet, has speed to burn and is a born leader with her deep thinking and knowledge of touch playing as a link. All at the age of 10…. A student at North Ryde Public, Jacqueline started playing touch at age 8 in the Monday night competition in her older sisters team (Jacq is the youngest of three girls). Despite being 3 years younger than the rest of the team, she enjoyed playing as it involved lots of running. Like many younger siblings, this is where it starts! Whilst she mixes it with other sports during the Winter months, Jacqueline has made her mark in Port Macquarie and has really dominated her first two seasons of rep touch football with the Hawks. Many good judges noticed her impact in the u/10s team that last year remained undefeated until weather ruined the tournament. Jacq loves all sports including little athletics, soccer, swimming and has represented at higher levels for PSSA Zone. In 2019 when there was a clash with Junior State Cup and Athletics Regionals, she flew between Sydney and Port Macquarie so she could compete at both events. What commitment! Whilst she still has a long way to go in her career, the skills and ability she has at such a young age will hold her in good stead for the future to push for higher honours. Her coaches love coaching her and only have to explain something once for her to understand. Even better than understanding it, she will execute these plays on the field and has the ability to lift other players around her. One of her coaches Jordan Kelly added 'Jacqueline is a true competitor and a pleasure to coach. She is a player who could go all the way in her career if she continues to develop at the rate she is at now. Hard to believe she is so young with all of that talent and skill'. Congratulations to Jacqueline on being the Hawks Female player of the month. Comments are closed.
