It is fair to say that Jean-Louis Jones will be in the Hawks Hall of Fame one day.
He is a freakish player who has proven himself at every level and a player who brings out the best in his team mates with a never say die attitude. Jean-Louis started his career with the Hawks as a superstar 12 year old after super coach Barry Gibson drove to Fairfield to watch a 12 year old genius who was tipped to be the next big thing. He was able to convince him to join the Hawks and the rest is history. Jean-Louis joined the Club in 2011 and has played a leading role in six titles for the mighty Hawks. He was soon an integral part of the Barry Gibson coached juggernaut that won title after title and then made the successful transition into seniors winning more titles at Senior State Cup and Vawdon Cup. 'Chubs' as he is known to his mate, is one of the best snake divers of all time stealing hundreds of tries close to the line!! Coach and mentor Barry Gibson said that ‘Jean-Louis is one of the most naturally gifted players I have ever had the pleasure of coaching. He is also one of the most popular players with his team mates and in the entire Club’ Some of his career achievements are highlighted below: - 2011 u14’s Junior State Cup title - 2012 u16’s Junior State Cup title - 2012 division 3 Men’s Vawdon Cup title - 2013 u16’s Junior State Cup title - 2013 u20’s Senior State Cup title - 2016 Div 1 State Cup title - 2019 Div 1 State Cup - Runners up Injuries have hampered Jean-Louis along his journey but his determination to get back out there and hold together our division one team over the last few years has been admirable. We are hoping this 23 year old talented player has another six titles in him! Aside from the rep stuff, he is also a big part of our local Hawks competition, playing for "Framing Life", (formerly "Boronia Park Framing") and winning numerous local titles. Now his ambition (along with this group of players) is to win a Premier League Title with the Hawks over the next three seasons. Congratulations to Jean-Louis on being the Hawks Senior Player of the month for October, 2020. Comments are closed.
