O'Brien Engineering has been a sponsor of the Hawks for over twenty years and Club legend John O'Brien has been a wonderful contributor to our Club on many levels. Below is more about their company.
In 1963, Allan O’Brien—a toolmaker by trade and one of the leading toolmakers in Australia—started a small business from a garage in Gladesville, Sydney. While working hard to establish the new business, Allan and his wife, Norma, lived and worked in this garage. They later built their family home on this same property, where they raised their three children. Today, O’Brien Engineering is Australian-owned and managed by second- and third-generation family members. O’Brien Engineering has two branches: their head office, manufacturing and distribution branch is located in Silverwater, Sydney; and their sheet metal engineering branch is located approximately 90 kilometres north of Sydney in Fountaindale. As well as having over 350 standard die sets to punch various materials, they have invested in highly accurate, innovative Amada CNC machinery—including laser cutters, press brake benders, and turret punches. This allows them to produce high-quality products within a short time frame. Along with their manufacturing expertise, they are also a distributor of hand-operated guillotines, corner cutters, tapes, findings, and a number of various materials. Their reputation is built on precision work with a fast turnaround without sacrificing quality. Their friendly customer service team can assist you with your design ideas—from prototypes to large runs and everything in between. With over 55 years’ experience, their expert operators will find a solution to suit your needs. They are committed to service and quality. Remember to support those who support us!!
